Terms

1. Who we are

One Million Candles (“Eternal Light”) is operated by PRAHA BIZ CZ s.r.o., Reg. No. 23946181, Sokolská 1883/8, Nové Město, 120 00 Praha 2, Czech Republic, contact [email protected].

Payments are processed by Stripe. For your purchase Stripe acts as the merchant of record — it is the legal seller, collects any applicable VAT or sales tax, and handles refunds, chargebacks and payment support. Your card statement may show “Sold through Link”.

2. What we provide

A digital service: a virtual candle lit on a public wall at onemillioncandles.com. The candle carries a name, an intention and an optional short message. This is not a physical product and nothing is shipped.

3. Price and payment

Tea light $4, Votive $11, Grand candle $30, Legendary from $500. A one-time payment — there is no subscription and no account. Prices may be displayed in your local currency; the final amount, including any tax, is always shown before you confirm.

4. Immediate performance and withdrawal

Your candle is lit immediately after payment. Before paying you confirm, in a separate checkbox, that you request performance to begin at once and that you therefore lose your 14-day right of withdrawal for this digital content. If you do not give that confirmation, we cannot light the candle immediately.

Stripe emails you a receipt confirming the purchase. If any of the conditions above were not met, your statutory right of withdrawal is unaffected and you may still ask for a refund.

Mistakes: if you made a typo in a name, contact us from the email you used at checkout within 48 hours of lighting the candle and we will correct it — up to two corrections per candle. Because the wall is public, we act on a correction, removal or refund request only when it comes from the email used for that order; this is how we confirm the candle is yours and stop anyone from altering someone else's. If you spot something later, write to us anyway and we will see what we can do.

5. Content you submit

You are responsible for the name, intention and message you enter, and by lighting a candle you confirm they contain none of the following:

A Legendary candle may carry a link you provide. It is shown on that candle’s own page, in the leaderboard, and in the candle’s pop-up card when someone opens it on the wall — but it is never drawn onto the wall itself. You are responsible for the site you link to and confirm you are entitled to link it. We do not endorse, control or check linked sites and accept no liability for their content; links are marked so search engines do not treat them as our endorsement. We may remove any link at our discretion.

A logo on a Legendary candle. The image you upload is your content and you are responsible for holding the rights to it. It must not contain sexually explicit material or nudity, symbols of hatred, unlawful content, or a trade mark you are not entitled to use — and nothing else that in our reasonable judgement does not belong on this wall.

Reporting content. If you believe a logo infringes your rights or the law, write to [email protected]. So that we can act, your notice must include: an explanation of why the content is unlawful; the exact address of the page where it appears; your name and email; and a statement that the information you give is, to the best of your knowledge, accurate and complete. For a trade mark, please also give its registration number. We handle notices in a timely, diligent and objective manner.

What happens then. We hide the logo and email the address given with the order. You may send a replacement and we will put it up. The candle keeps burning throughout — the removal concerns only the logo, not the candle, and does not give rise to a refund.

If a candle breaches these rules, we will contact you and give you the chance to correct it. If it is not corrected, or the breach is serious, we will remove the candle and refund what you paid. We do not keep payment for a candle we have taken down.

Whenever we remove a candle, we email the person who lit it, tell them why, and refund them. We do not take anything down silently.

To report a candle, write to [email protected] with its link — we review reports and act quickly.

Videos and social media. The wall is a public display. We may feature a candle — its name, words and page — in our own videos or on our official social media only if you tick the optional box allowing it when you light it. We cannot control other people: anyone can look at or film the public wall, and what others post about it is outside our hands.

6. “Forever” — and its honest limits

Your candle is intended to stay permanently, and we mean it. We cannot, however, guarantee that any website runs for an unlimited time. If the project ever ends, we intend to publish the wall as a static archive so the candles remain readable.

If you ask us to erase your personal data, we will remove your candle — we cannot both keep it published and honour that request.

7. Complaints

Write to [email protected]. If we cannot resolve it, consumers may turn to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), adr.coi.cz, the competent body for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes. Payment-related complaints are handled by Stripe as merchant of record.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Nothing here limits the mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
