Where is the link to my candle?
It is on your receipt. After you pay, Stripe emails you a receipt, and the link to your candle is printed on it, under the name of the candle you bought. It looks like onemillioncandles.com/c/… and it never expires.
The link also appears on screen the moment your candle is lit, so you can copy it straight away. If you closed the page before copying it, use the receipt — your candle is safe either way, it was created the moment your payment went through.
How do I find my candle again on the wall?
Paste your link — or just the code at the end of it — into the search box at the top of the wall, and the view will fly straight to your candle.
your linkonemillioncandles.com/c/Bo4lRoMvsearch for either the whole link, or justBo4lRoMv
You can search by name too, but names repeat — there are many candles for a María — so the search will step through every match. The code is the only thing that points at your exact candle, so it’s worth keeping the link.
I can’t find the receipt
Check your spam folder, and search your inbox for onemillioncandles. The receipt is sent by Stripe, who handles the payment, so it may not have our name in the sender.
If it isn’t there, write to [email protected] from the address you paid with and we will send you the link.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to cancel. You light a candle, you get a link, and that is the whole relationship.
How long does the candle burn?
It stays. It does not disappear when you close the page and there is no monthly fee keeping it alight. The wall holds one million candles, and when the last one is lit it will be sealed in time.
I made a typo in the name
Write to [email protected] with your candle’s link and what it should say. We would rather fix it than have a name spelled wrong on a wall that is meant to last.
Can I light candles for several people at once?
Yes. Add a candle for each person in the same purchase — each one gets its own name, its own few words, and its own link.
Who can see my candle?
The wall is public, so the name and the words you write are visible to anyone who finds them. The page for a single candle is deliberately kept out of search engines — it can be shared by link, but it will not surface in Google results. Please don’t write anything on a candle that the family would not want a stranger to read.
Can I get a refund?
Payments are handled by Stripe as the seller of record, so refunds go through them — write to us and we will start it. Note that by confirming the purchase you agree the candle is lit immediately, which waives the 14-day withdrawal period for digital goods; see the Terms.
A candle here is offensive — can you remove it?
Yes. Write to [email protected] with its link. Hateful, threatening or harassing candles are removed, and this is a place of remembrance — we would rather it stay one.
Is a real candle lit somewhere?
Not today. We would like to arrange that with a real parish, and when we do, we will say so here. Until then we would rather promise nothing than promise something we don’t do.
